FSU Men, LSU Women Claim National Track Titles

Women's Long Jump

Brittney Reese, Mississippi

Mississippi junior Brittney Reese leaped 6.93m (22-09.00 ft) to win the women's long jump. Reese won the Southeastern Conference title in the event.

Men's Long Jump

Ngonidzashe Makusha, Florida State.

Florida State freshman, Ngonidzashe Makusha, leaped a meet record 8.30 meters (27-02.75 ft) to win the men's long jump.

Men Discus Throw

University of Kentucky junior, Rashaud Scott, took home the discus title with a throw of 60.87m (199-08 ft).

Men's Hammer Throw

Cory Martin, Auburn

Auburn senior thrower, Cory Martin, beat teammate Jake Dunkleberger and set a meet record with a toss of 74.13m (243-02 ft)to win the men's hammer throw.

Women's 3000 Meter Steeplechase

Jenny Barringer, Colorado

Colorado junior distance runner, Jenny Barringer, set an NCAA Track & Field Championship meet record in winning the women's steeplechase with a time of 9:29.20.

Women's 100 Meter Dash

Kelly-Ann Baptiste, LSU

Kelly-Ann Baptiste, Louisiana State, took home the title in the women's 100 meter dash winning with a time of 11.20 seconds. The senior sprinter placed second in the women's 200 meter dash.

Men's 100 Meter Dash

Richard Thompson, LSU

Louisiana State senior sprinter, Richard Thompson, added a national title to his Southeastern Conference 100 meter dash title winning in a time of 10.12 seconds.

Women's 400 Meter Hurdles

Nickiesha Wilson, LSU

Junior sprinter, Nickiesha Wilson, added another individual title to the Louisiana State trophy case winning the women's 400 meter hurdles in 54.45 seconds.

Men 5000 Meter Run

Robert Curtis, Villanova

Senior distance runner, Robert Curtis, claimed the only event title for Villanova winning the men's 5000 meters in 13:33.93.

Men's 200 Meter Dash

Walter Dix, FSU

Walter Dix crossed the line in 20.40 seconds to defend his 200 meter dash title helping Florida State win its third consecutive national crown.

Men's 110 Meter Hurdles

Jason Richardson, USC

South Carolina sprinter, Jason Richardson, returned from a year off to win the men's 110 meter hurdles in 13.40 seconds.

Women's 1500 Meter Run

Hannah England, FSU

Florida State sophomore, Hannah England, out distanced the field to win the women's 1500 meter run in 4:06.19.

Women's 400 Meter Dash

Shana Cox, Penn State

Penn State senior, Shana Cox, ended her collegiate career on top winning the women's 400 meter dash in 50.97 seconds. Cox also anchored the Penn State women's winning 4 x 400 meter relay that set a Drake Stadium record with a time of 3:27.69.

Women's Shot Put

Jessica Pressley, ASU

Senior Jessica Pressley continued Arizona State's dominance in the women's throwing events winning the shot put with a toss of 18.13 meters.

Men's Triple Jump

Muhammad Halim, Cornell

Cornell senior jumper, Muhammad Halim, bested the field with a distance of 16.66 meters.

Men's Shot Put

Cory Martin, Auburn

Auburn senior thrower, Cory Martin, doubled up on the hardware winning the men's shot put with a toss of 20.35 meters. Martin was also a winner in the men's hammer throw.

Women's Discus Throw
